Valuing diversity and inclusion

Help your child to develop understanding, respect and acceptance of individual differences in your local school community and beyond the school gates. A school that values diversity is confident and strong in its values and beliefs. Respect for diversity in all its forms ensures that everyone in the school community feels a sense of belonging and connectedness.

You have an important role in helping your child understand, respect and value each individual in their school and wider community. A welcoming school culture values diversity and fosters positive, respectful relationships. A cohesive and culturally safe school ensures that everyone feels a sense of belonging and connectedness.

You have a vital role in fostering your child's respect for diversity and inclusion.

  • Embrace cultural diversity in your child’s school
  • Explore, understand and value difference
  • Work in partnership with the school to tackle racism
  • Strategies to support diversity in the school community
