Explore wellbeing through an Indigenous lens and deepen your understanding of the factors that support Indigenous students to thrive with Justin Wilkey, a Ngarrindjeri man and researcher specialising in Indigenous Education and Wellbeing in the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne.

Drawing on research, professional experience and PhD findings, Justin will introduce key concepts of Indigenous social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB), including the Indigenous SEWB model, protective and risk factors, and the ongoing impacts of colonial systems and racism on wellbeing outcomes.

Practical strategies linked to the AITSL Professional Standards and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority will be shared, along with resources and opportunities for questions and reflection.
