Accepting and including others
Everyone is unique, with their own special strengths, abilities, interests and ideas.
Could you imagine your classroom full of students identical to you? It might sound fun but you'd soon get bored! Take a minute to think about the others in your classes. Your classmates might be of different nationalities, races and genders and have different religious beliefs. It's great that people of different backgrounds bring new information, ideas and viewpoints that help us understand ourselves and others.
It's important to learn more about kids who are different from you so you can build a safe and inclusive learning space:
- Everyone deserves to learn in a safe and supportive space
- Diversity exists in many different ways
- Kids who need special support need to feel included
- You can find lots of help if you feel you're not accepted and included
